Would you let a woman pay half the bill? (I wouldn’t be a real man)

I don’t know about you, but where I come from this is not a debatable issue. Even though it’s the lady who asked you out on a date, splitting the bill is unheard of. Footing the bill is a natural act for ‘real’ men. We are natural born providers, and when there is no need for us to provide, it leaves a hole in our hearts. We don’t foot the bill to show off or because our women are too broke to clear it, we are meant to; we take pride in doing so. Besides, women like their men to be chivalrous and charming like opening the door for them when entering a restaurant or pulling the chair for them. They find it attractive when a man pays. It is a good way to make your lady feel like a lady and it definitely adds to the security she feels when with you.If a lady, even my own woman, suggested we hang out and I happened to be broke, I would tell her so. After all, openness is the key to a healthy relationship. If you don’t have money but are still interested then you should communicate. If she loses interest because you have no money then she is not worth dating. Are we now fostering a foreign culture in which men feel okay when pampered? Do they also want doors opened for them and chairs pulled out? In Rwanda, men are raised to be providers – the ones who take care of the family, mostly financially. It’s an unwritten rule in our culture to take good care of our women; therefore it is expected of us to pay the bill.If you are interested in a certain lady, I suggest that you never entertain the idea of splitting the bill, even when she suggests it. Insist (politely) on paying. This shows responsibility and class. The only way you can think it’s cool to let a woman pay is if you come from a dysfunctional home that has no idea what a real gentleman is. Remember most women let a man pay for dinner because they are wise enough to allow him to be the man in the relationship. This signals that she respects him. Call me a traditionalist but splitting bill is just not the masculine thing to do!
