Editor, I think the main reason behind taking on the husband’s last name is that women all over the world feel like they are not complete until they belong to a man.However, I agree with where you wrote about some names that have negative connotation. When I was in High School at Gahini, one of my classmates was called “Mahano” – literally translated “Tragedy” in English.
