The Rwandan music industry has developed to a great extent. Artistes are impressively becoming more active, with many of them releasing two songs in a month as the music market also grows rapidly. The New Times takes you through the top five summer 2022 hit songs (May - September) ‘Inana’ by Chris Eazy ‘Inana’ is one of the most popular songs of this year so far in Rwanda and in the whole region due to its lyrics and its visuals, this song has captured the hearts of Rwandan music lovers and loved by people of all ages, especially the youths and young children. This song is among the few Rwandan songs that hit 3 million views on YouTube in a very short time, ‘Inana’ is still among the leading songs on Rwandan music chats. ‘Akinyuma’ by Bruce Melodie He gets people talking whenever he drops a song. Bruce Melodie this summer released ‘Akinyuma’ a song whose video is restricted for persons under 18 to watch. Melodie’s music has on different occasions been at the center of criticisms for using content that violates cultural norms in his songs although the singer distanced himself from any attempt of doing music out of respect of Rwandan culture. But as always criticisms has never been a problem to Melodie's as he always releases hit after hit. Kashe’ by Element Audio music producer Element surprised many people when he announced via his Instagram that he was going to release his first single. It didn't take long before the Country Record producer released his song called 'Kashe'. This song has already garnered more than 2 million views on YouTube in just one month. ‘Ndarura’ by Juno Kizigenza This song came out when many people rumoured that Kizigenza was dating former Miss Rwanda contestant, Sabin Mutabazi after both were seen on different occasions enjoying life. Ndarura came out following 'Urankunda' hit songs, which Juno Kizigenza lately called to be a true story about his ex-girlfriend Ariel Wayz. Its audio was made by producer Element while its video was directed by Flerry Nkotanyi and many if not all of its footages were taken in Kampala, Uganda. ‘Jolly’ by Kenny Sol Kenny Sol who is now regarded as one of the next super stars has shown great effort this summer and his recent song 'Jolly' didn't take before hitting one million views on YouTube. Many people loved this song because there were not many of its genre, the ‘Haso’ hit maker explained that the inspiration to make this song came from Christopher's song called 'Nibido'.
