Rwanda beach Volleyball national men and women’s team are expected to start camp on May 20 ahead of the World Championships set for June 6 to 9 in Myslowice, Poland.The Rwanda Volleyball Federation’s Executive Secretary Gertrude Kubwimana confirmed the developmen. The teams will be under the tutelage of Alex Mbaraga.“They (players) will start the trainings next week ahead of the competition. They have been having exposure in the national league with their teams but having them train together will help them to keep in competition mood ahead of the global championship,” she told this paper early this week. Rwanda’s U23 teams beat Egypt and Zimbabwe in the final of the Africa Championships in Mombasa to qualify for the world championships.Rwanda will be represented by Charlotte Nzayisenga and Denyse Mutatsimpundu for the women, while the men’s team will be made up of Olivier Ntagengwa and Thierry Mugabo.peter.kamasa@newtimes.co.rwRwanda, Zimbabwe and Egypt will represent Africa in the men category, while Kenya, Rwanda and Zimbabwe for the women.This year has been an unforgettable one for Rwanda’s volleyball fraternity after the U19 (boys) and U21 (boys) qualified for the world championships which will be held in Mexico and Turkey respectively later in the year.
