Dear editor, It is funny and at the same time saddening to see Rwandan soccer players indulging in voodoo or witchcraft as most would call it. Wednesday, a photo showing Rayon Sport’s defender Amiable Rucogoza planting voodoo like substances was published. This depicts a sign of illiteracy to some extent. I say this because it is well known that it is the hard work coupled with skill and training together with discipline that will make a football team successful. No amount of charms and chanting will make the ball enter the net. Understanding this is simple; the legs of the soccer players are what put the ball into the net. Rwandan footballers need to overcome the paranoia they have about losing a game. They should know that football is just another game and for every game there is a loser and a winner. More emphasis should be put into training and learning new skills instead of indulging in hopeless voodoo. Besides the bible says there is a special place for those who indulge in witchcraft and sorcery. Kimihurura
