MTN Peace Cup Semi-finals results APR 4-1 KiyovuAtraco 2-1 Rayon Mutesa Mafisango’s late minute strike set up a grand final clash that pitches APR against Atraco in this year’s MTN Peace Cup to be played on Friday at Nyamirambo stadium. Atraco reached the lucrative finals of the MTN Peace Cup after defeating Rayon Sport 2-1 thanks to Peter Kagabo (75) and Mafisango (90th) strikes. Rayon Sport dominated the first half with an early strike from Bokota Labama Kamana on 15th minute. The taxi-men side had a poor first half show but returned back to the second half with renewed confidence. Atraco didn’t fully enjoy the second half as they were still below par compared to the Blues but things turned to in Atraco’s favour on the 75th minute when Kagabo capitalized on a Bonaventure Hategikimana blunder to equalizer for the taxi men. The game was also marred by ugly scenes when Atraco’s skipper Ismail Nshutinamagara unearthed a substance from Rayon’s goal that seemed to be voodoo attached to the goal post by Aimable Rucogoza. But the latter was bitterly confronted by Aimable Rucogoza who planted the substance and Hategikimana forcing referee Issa Kagabo to award Nshutinamagara a yellow card. It was Mafisango’s deflected strike that settled the game that seemed to be heading for spot kicks. Earlier on, Defending champions APR qualified to their third successive Amahoro cup final after defeating SC Kiyovu 4-1 at the same venue. Kabange Twite (19th), Elias Uzamukunda (23rd, 80th) and Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza (75th) were on target for the military side. Jean-Claude Iranzi scored the consolation for the Greens on 20th minute of the game. Ends
