Kabalagala: Kampala’s commercial suburb hijacked by sex workers
KABALAGALA IS a well known suburb in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.Located about six kilometres southeast of the city, the suburb was named after popular local pancakes made from cassava flour and sweet bananas, spiced with pepper.
According to sources, residents of Kabalagala used to make the tasty pancakes which then drew a lot of people to the area and the name stuck.Today however, pancakes are not as popular as they have been replaced by roasted meat.
