Rwandan singer and lyricist Niyo Bosco has been discharged from hospital a few hours after he announced that he was critically ill. According to Niyo’s close friends, the renowned artiste was diagnosed with malaria, but is now in good condition and receiving more treatment at home. Sunday evening is when news of the singer’s sickness started circulating on social media after a video of him lying on a hospital bed went viral. “You better pray for me so the presents of God can always be seen in my life situation,” Niyo captioned the Instagram post, asking family and friends for prayers to recover. Reports from family and friends say that Niyo is recovering and will soon go back to the studio to record and finalize his first album. Malaria is not the only problem Niyo has had to deal with. On May 12, Niyo broke silence on a Twitter space and stated issues he was facing in the music industry which delayed the making of his first studio album. It was after the renowned artiste parted ways with Sunday Entertainment Label, a few days after he terminated his contract with first management line, MIE, a move he explained that was caused by how both companies were fraudulently taking advantage of him. Niyo had joined Sunday Entertainment in January 2023, after Irene Murindahabi’s MIE that managed him since he launched his music career in 2020. He rose to fame after the release of his first track, ‘Ubigenza Ute’ which got him signed under MIE until he parted ways with the music house on October 28, 2022. Niyo remains one of the best vocalists and lyricists in the history of the Rwandan music industry.
