Members of SC Kiyovu have elected Jean François Regis Ndorimana for a new three-year term as club president. Ndorimana will continue to lead the Mumena-based club after he collected a total of 99 votes out of a possible 101 members who cast their votes during the club general assembly that took place on Sunday, July 16. His reelection came seven months after he took office, replacing when former president Juvenal Mvukiyehe stepped down to take charge of the club's business wing, Kiyovu Sports Company. Besides Ndorimana, the general assembly also elected Karim Mbonyumuvunyi and Jean Claude Muhire as first and second vice president prospectively while Jeanine Karangwa will serve as club Secretary General. Kiyovu will spend a budget amounting to Rwf1 billion next season which gets underway in August. The new budget was approved during the general meeting of the club that brought together the shareholders of Kiyovu Sports Company LTD. It is reported that the budget will mainly come from partners, sponsors and gate collections. Part of the budget will be used to sign new players in massive squad rebuild following shock departure of majority of club senior players including skipper skipper Yves Kimenyi, vice-captain Ally Serumogo and Burundian duo Ismail Nshimirimana and Abedi Bigirimana among many who parted company with the club in early July. Club boss Ndorimana recently described most of the players who left as traitors who partly played in Kiyovu’s major title slip last season. The club management is now regrouping to build a new, good and attractive team ready to compete at a high level. Goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa and striker Brian Kalumba, both from Uganda, and Liberian striker Mikel Freeman Obediah are among the players who have completed their move to the Green Baggies. The new players will be part of a new football project that Greek coach Petros Koukouras is working on as he looks to turn the club’s fortunes around during his spell.
