Renowned singer and lyricist Niyo Bosco is seriously sick and has been admitted to the hospital, The New Times has learnt. Reports of Niyo’s sickness started circulating on Sunday, July 16, after the musician posted a photo of him laying on a hospital bed, conveying that he has been unwell for some days. In the photo he shared, Niyo is seen laying down next to a doctor who is injecting him IV fluids. He however did not reveal more details of his ailment. “After 6 years without being down with any kind of illness. You better pray for me so the presents of God can always be seen in my life situation,” Niyo wrote on the Instagram post. Fans and fellow musicians including Ugandan gospel star Levixon took to the comments to wish him quick recovery and send prayer messages. On May 12, Niyo broke silence on a Twitter space and stated issues he was facing in the music industry which hindered him to record his first studio album. It was after the renowned artiste parted ways with Sunday Entertainment Label, a few days after he terminated his contract with first management line, MIE. Niyo had joined Sunday Entertainment in January 2023, after Irene Murindahabi’s MIE that managed him since he launched his music career in 2020. He rose to fame after the release of his first track, ‘Ubigenza Ute’ which got him signed under MIE until he parted ways with the music house on October 28, 2022. Niyo remains one of the best vocalists and lyricists in the history of Rwandan music industry.
