Flirty and feminine in floral!

Florals were all over this season’s runways. They brightened up the catwalk with large prints of carnations, orchids, roses and mother’s of pearl. It’s time to jump into the style in the trendiest way – with a beautiful floral skirt. Florals have come and gone in the fashion industry ever since its inception. There is always a way to bring the timeliness, earthy look back in the wardrobe in fresh, new ways. Israeli born fashion designer Elie Tahari crafted a beautiful mint green pencil skirt with bursts of yellow and kelly green roses in a painted style. The skirt is made from silk shantung, giving it that extra early spring feel. Valentino’s Red collection, known for more contemporary, modern fairytale type pieces, designed a cotton and tulle full, white daisy skirt. This micro-floral print works better for those who are not as fashion bold. Design brand Ernest Sewn, known for American style vintage pieces, dreamt up an A-line mint jean skirt with a royal blue and eggplant purple flower print. Taking the look from casual to formal, Philip Lim, a Chinese American designer acclaimed for his work in women’s wear, designed an oriental mini floral skirt with a short thigh slit on the front. He adds to the drama of the skirt with a slight high-low effect, where the skirt is slightly longer in the back. Again on the casual lines, Tibi, a brand developed by an American duo and sold throughout high-end department stores in New York and London, developed another floral denim style. The skirt is a recurring summer daisy orange and pink pattern with a washed look. Where there is a trend – there are celebrities wearing it. American songstress Taylor Swift was recently seen in a white and blue floral skirt. She paired it with a button down casual blouse and black knee high boots. Ever glowing, and now very pregnant, Kim Kardashian wore a silk white and pink floral skirt. She paired it with a simple white cotton tank top, beige leather bag, and sky-high white and beige sandals. Vanessa Hudgens, who recently starred in Spring Breakers, wore a high-waisted pink skirt with bright green and purple flowers. For a casual look, she paired it with flat, simple, cross-braided sandals. Leave it to Leighton Meister to take the look the most fashionable. This former Gossip Girls starlet wore a white skirt with pink flowers. She paired it with a coral t-shirt, a summer floral brimmed hat, and turquoise open toe booties. For the best way to wear the look, take a cue from the celebs: pair your floral skirt with a simple, solid color top. For a casual look, a cotton t-shirt or tank will look great.
