All is set for the long-awaited Women Deliver 2023 Conference, which kicks off Monday, July 17, with pre-events starting on Sunday, July 16. Under the theme: Spaces, Solidarity, and Solutions, the multi-sectoral conference will see feminists and other rights activists including different artists convene to find solutions to different challenges. Below are big players in the art sector that are expected to attend the long awaited conference slated for Monday. Ben Antelis Ben is a Songwriter, Producer, Executive producer, and Manager. Currently Co-managing MILCK, Ben has worked with world class artists such as Ricky Martin, Lauv, Tori Kelly, Matisyahu, Dixie, Spencer Ludwig, Evangelia, and many more. He is among the speakers of Women Deliver 2023 Conference coming to Rwanda for the first time. Noemi Grütter Noemi Grütter is a feminist activist, human rights expert, and DJ who inspires with her feminist work from the streets, to local, national, and international institutions, to the clubs and festivals. She is currently the Co-Coordinator for the Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action, working with over 450 community-based organizations in the intersection of gender justice and climate justice. She is also the Co-President of Sexual Health Switzerland (member of IPPF) and a Women Deliver Young Leader. She co-founded Elle Kwa Mziki, a female DJ community in Rwanda, striving for more equality within the music business. Winnie Ange Winnie is a creative dancer, writer, performer, and artistic director of theater projects related to the empowerment of women and gender equality. Winnie is also a talented, passionate, and hardworking artist who has a long track of creating original pieces of art work through a variety of mediums. Winnie came from a strong artistic background and a long history of excellent performance with the ability to create theater and dance pieces. She is also among the speakers of this years Women Deliver Conference to start on Monday, July 17. Precious Moloi-Motsepe Precious Moloi-Motsepe is a South African philanthropist and fashion entrepreneur. Considered as one of the richest women in South Africa, Motsepe started her career as a medical practitioner, and specializing in children and women's health. She is also one of the brains behind Motsepe Foundation, one of the largest Foundations in South Africa and on the continent, in terms of the donations allocated since its founding. In 2007, she established African Fashion International, an events, fashion and lifestyle company to promote pan-African designers to international audiences, and endorse the African fashion industry as a pathway to economic development for young people and women. She will be in Kigali next week for Women Deliver Conference and it’s side events that include ‘A Conversation with African Stem Practitioners’ organized by Mostepe foundation. Zuhura Seng’enge Zuhura Seng'enge, The African Lioness, is an award-winning artist from Tanzania with a 10+ year career as a poet, voice actress, and independent recording artist. Zuhura's unique style addresses themes of identity, equality, and empowerment on international platforms with both compelling and moving live performances and videos for social change. She is one of the judges of 2023 Women Deliver Arts & Film Festival which is scheduled to take place during Women Deliver Conference. Tanzila Khan Tanzila Khan is an entrepreneur, disability rights activist and writer. She is the founder of Girlythings.pk, a platform that delivers urgent menstrual kits to menstruators in Pakistan. She also ventured into filmmaking and acting to project disability through a heart-warming short film, FruitChaat. Tanzila won the Amal Clooney Women’s Empowerment Award from King Charles in London in May 2022 for her services. She will also participate in 2023 Women Deliver Arts & Film Festival. Ayanda Makayi Ayanda Makayi is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Sol, a troubled young man who stalks the streets of the Zenzele in his taxi, in the fifth and seventh seasons of the television drama series MTV Shuga. Makayi is one of the UNHCR ambassadors who aims to redefine the narrative of refugees across Africa. Ri Chakraborty Ri Chakraborty, is an Award-winning Senior Executive Producer in Film, TV; a trained Broadcast Journalist, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Ri has initiated and Exec'd a variety of observational medical documentaries, including the celebrated series on maternal health: The Fistula Hospital set in Ethiopia. Ri is an Ambassador for Arts and Health, Poverty, and nominated as a Positive Role Model to women. Ri Chakraborty, is an Award-winning Senior Executive Producer in Film, TV; a trained Broadcast Journalist, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Ri has initiated and Exec'd a variety of observational medical documentaries, including the celebrated series on maternal health: The Fistula Hospital set in Ethiopia. Lisa Russell Lisa Russell, MPH is an Emmy-winning filmmaker, UN/NGO arts curator and founder of creator2030 with a 20 year career that lies at the intersection of arts, social justice and sustainable development. She is a writer and director, known for A Revolutionary Act (2020), Bi-Racial Hair (2009) and Mother's Cry (2015). She will be curating the Best of the Fest, for the 2023 Women Deliver Arts and Film Festival. DJ Sonata Sonata is a Brooklyn-based DJ with 15 years experience of open format playlist, corporate, formal event and club DJ sets. His background in management landed him his current position at MDS Entertainment after working as a general manager at the 40/40 clubs, Yankee Stadium and venues in Brooklyn. He understands crowd control, event management and the intracies of profit and loss. All of this behind the incredibly talented production, stage presence, musical selection, crowd engagement and understanding of composition makes Sonata a genius. He will also perform during 2023 Women Deliver Arts & Film Festival.
