Toys are a lot of fun. However, as you grow older, it is best to graduate from the ‘baby’ toys, to something more mature. There are lots of ‘mature’ toys and games in stores like Nakumatt and Simba. Ask Mummy and Daddy to buy you toys you can learn something from this Easter so you can do a bit of both, play AND learn. Or, make up your own games… Below are a few ideas.Sudoku Sudoku is a logic-based, number assignment puzzle I just love to play. Should you find interest to play it, instructions are always there. Play some easy level games online till you are good enough to graduate to harder levels. Scrabble Scrabble is a word game where words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary. Sounds like fun, right? Well, don’t just sit there reading about it, ask mum/dad to squeeze their budget a little and buy the game. The ‘old school’ game For lack of knowledge on what the game is actually called, I choose to call it that. Get some friends (the more the better); give each one a piece of paper and pencil. Everyone must separate their sheet into 4 sections: Name – Country – Colour – Animal. Each of you get to say a letter of your choice and then time yourselves as you write down a name, country, colour, and animal that starts with the letter chosen. Five points for each correct answer and 2 points if there is any repetition or should two or more people write the same thing. I Spy I Spy – well, at least the version I played as child - is one of those ‘watchful games’. Again, grab a few friends, let each one take their turn to ‘spy’ something and describe it for the rest to figure it out. However, when describing it, do not make it easy for them. Let them look around and keep guessing till they finally give up! You have to be alert though.
