I’m close to giving up on movies that are extremely hyped. In most cases, the hype does not meet my expectations. That said, I was so disappointed with The Words, regardless of the cast Bradley Cooper (2011 sexiest man alive) and his on again off again girlfriend Zoe Saldana. Bradley Cooper acts as Rory Jansen, an aspiring writer living in New York City with his loving and supporting girlfriend, Dora (Zoe Saldana). The 96 minute film teaches the consequences of plagiarizing material. The unsuccessful author finds a typed manuscript in an old briefcase that he bought from an antique shop in Paris where he had gone to celebrate his honeymoon. Initially, publishers had told him that his writings lacked something and this frustrated him, affecting his relationship with his girlfriend. After reading, he re-typed it on his laptop. Without so much as changing a word or punctuation, his girlfriend read it while he was out. She pushed him into publishing it and it became a success. While Jansen was enjoying his new found fame, he was confronted by an old man (the original author of the manuscript). As a way of undoing what he had done, he confessed to his wife, causing major changes in his life.I would give it a 5 out of 10.
