This mixture creates fizz and cleanses the interior of the disposal.Boil water while the baking soda/vinegar mixture is working in the garbage disposal and pour down the drain once it has come to a boil.Pour 2 cups of ice down the drain followed by 1 cup of rock salt.Turn on the garbage disposal and run cold water until the ice melts away. The mixture of salt and ice loosens up the remaining debris and grime.Cut a lime or lemon in half and add to the garbage disposal while the water is running. Make sure to allow each piece to go down individually. This step not only cleans the garbage disposal, it also creates a fresh scent.Wipe the handles and faucets with a mild soap solution, using a toothbrush in areas that are hard to reach.Soak a cloth in white vinegar and let it sit on handles and faucets if spots remain.Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with a soft towel.
