However, Gomes has urged his players to stay focused with seven rounds of matches remaining.Rayon will face Police on March 27, “We have a good chance of winning the league however; we need top stay focused because we still have seven matches still play where anything can happen, especially with Police just one behind,” Gomes said.“We need to maintain our current (good) form and try to win every match. The win over APR is special in more than one way, our fans can enjoy it for some time, but the race is not yet over. This win moves us closer to accomplishing our target,” added Gomes, who remains unbeaten since taking over in December.Rayon earned the remarkable victory at a capacity filled Amahoro stadium through Papy Kamanzi, who bagged a brace, while skipper Aphrodis Hategikimana and Cedric Amissi netted the other two goals.The win eclipses Rayon’s previous biggest win over APR, 4-1 back in 2004 to win their last league title with Congolese coach Raoul Shungu.Police beat Isonga 2-1 on Saturday to keep pressure on Rayon at the top. This season, the Blues lead the table with 41 points having won 13, drawn two and lost four matches. They have scored a total 40 goals, and conceded 19.In order to win their seventh league title, the Nyanza-based club must avoid losing valuable points in their remaining seven games against Kiyovu, Police, Isonga, Etincelles, Muhanga, Musanze and Espoir.
