Fashionista’s watched with great anticipation for the biggest red carpet fashion social event of the year: the Oscars. This week, we bring you a recap of the stars that hit the mark. Blonde beauty Reese Whitherspoon dazzled in a two-toned black and blue strapless Louis Vuitton gown. She paired with diamond bracelets and earrings, also by the French designer. The actress told reporters about her favourite fashion consultant: her thirteen year old daughter. Red haired starlet Amy Adams, who was celebrating her third Oscar nod this year for her performance in The Fighter, stepped on to the carpet in a voluminous Oscar de la Renta creation. The dress, with meters of fabric, fit her tiny frame beautifully, with a synched-in waist and sweetheart neckline. She paired with a beautifully crafted crisscross diamond bracelet from Mouawad, an exclusive boutiquejewelry company based out of Geneva. America’s newest sweetheart, actress Jennifer Lawrence, best known for her role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movie series, captured the eyes of the Academy Awards for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. As a woman in her young 20’s, she beautifully combined her sophistication with young female charisma. She donned an exaggerated bell Dior Haute Couture pale pink strapless gown and paired it with a silver Roger Vivier clutch and Chopard diamond earrings weighing in at 23 carats. Femme fatale Jessica Chastain, who starred as the lead CIA agent in Zero Dark Thirty based off the true events leading to the assassination of Osama Bin Laden, wore a custom, form fitting, copper Giorgio Armani gown with crystals. She paired with Harry Winston diamond bracelet and earrings. The all-American next-door woman, Jennifer Garner, graced the red carpet in a bright piece. As she supported husband Ben Affleck, who won the coveted Best Picture for Argo, she shined in a strapless deep purple gown with thick ruffles cascading down her backside. She paired with Neil Lane diamond earrings and necklace, as well as a two tone Roger Vivier clutch. Key red carpet trend to notice – focus is being taking away from statement pieces around the neck and are transitioning to heavy, yet classic bracelets. Now that’s a trend we can afford!
