GEENA DAVIS has joined a growing list of actresses, who have panned Seth MacFarlane as host of the 2013 Academy Awards.Jane Fonda, ‘Girls’ star Lena Dunham and Jamie Lee Curtis have publicly criticised MacFarlane for leading an Oscars musical number that listed actresses who have bared their breasts on the big screen.Davis weighed in on the controversy, while being honoured by the California Assembly for her work with the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls.“It’s a shame that that triumph [the Oscar win for animated film Brave, which features a strong female character] was enveloped in an awards ceremony containing disrespect for women,” Davis said, adding: “But it helps illustrate how tone-deaf we can still be regarding the status of women.”The “Freaky Friday” star Lee Curtis expressed a similar point of view in a recent op-ed piece, where she said she was “offended” by MacFarlane’s brand of humour.
