Etincelles Football Club have sacked their head coach Safari Buni after a run of poor results that has left the club languishing near the bottom of the table. The club chairman Védaste Kayiranga confirmed to Times Sport yesterday that the Congolese-born Buni has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect. Assistant coach Hamdun Nshimiyimana and goalkeepers’ coach Guy Amri Mulimbili have been put in temporary charge until a permanent replacement is named.Buni joined the Rubavu-based Primus National Football League side in December 2012 to replace the sacked Radjab Bizumuremyi. Only in one season Etincelles have sacked two coaches. “I can confirm that Buni is no longer coach of Etincelles because he hasn’t fulfilled his duties. We have asked him to step down after a series of poor results. The club will look for another coach in the coming days,” he said.Just two years ago, Etincelles were representing Rwanda in the Orange CAF Confederation Cup after finishing second in the league profiting from the decision by Atraco, who had finished second, to withdraw from the league. The Rubavu-based outfit is sitting on 13th position in the 14-team league table standing with 13 points with six rounds of matches remaining.
