Editor,During the World War II, Cornelia “Corrie” ten Boom and her family were victimised for hiding Jewish neighbours from the unfolding Holocaust (only two siblings survived).Before his anonymous death in prison, Corrie’s father, then 85 years old, observed quietly: “The NAZIs will lose this war because they have touched the apple of GOD’s eye”. His observation reiterates the paradoxical message of the Cross– that GOD’s presence is manifested most powerfully among the weakest.His crucified son Jesus Christ made this eternal promise: “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers (sisters) you are doing it directly to me.” (Matthew 25: 40, 45).Margaret S.
