There are so many things to discuss with your spouse. One way to ensure that communication flows freely with each other is to establish time to talk. It might seem silly to schedule this, but eventually it will be the natural thing for the two of you.Show affectionWhat is wrong with showing your spouse some little affection even in public? Make some good comments about him/her; these are little things that are taken for granted but are very important. Embrace changeEveryone grows and changes through their life, and it is important to remember that your relationship will grow and change as well. Show appreciationThis is one thing that we take for granted. We assume just because so and so is my spouse, then I have a right to ABC. Very wrong. Just letting your husband know you appreciate the fact that he is remodeling the house is a big thing. Show your loveIf it means saying I love you every other time you two talk – so be it. A simple hug or kiss brings fond memories making the couple yearn for each other no matter how long they have been together. Always forgiveThere is no angel on earth. When you wrong your spouse, there is nothing wrong with owning up and apologising. Be friendsJust because you are in a relationship does not mean you can’t be friends. Be open and talk to each other openly. Share your feelings about certain things, and it will be easier for the two of you to connect.
