Young Tigers 163/10 Right Guards 78/10 Young Tigers win by 85 runs Young Tigers humiliated hapless Right Guards for a second time in as many meeting this season with a convincing 85 runs’ victory at Kicukiro Oval on Sunday. Young Tigers’ captain Andre Kayitera led from the front with a beautifully executed 57 runs to help his side post a defendable score of 163 runs. In the second innings, Guards started off well with 40 for no loss before quickly stumbling to 78 all out, thanks to clever medium pace bowling Evode Mutuyimana who picked four wickets for nine runs. It was the youngsters’ second victory in the Sulfo league and leaves them four points behind second placed Indorwa in the league table. After Sunday’s performance, Young Tigers are pumped up and believe they can pull off a shock against league leaders and title favourites Challengers when the two sides meet this Sunday. “We beat Right Guards in all departments. Our batting, bowling and fielding were up there and that’s exactly what we need to see off Challengers,” Tigers skipper Kayitera noted. After the defeat, Right Guards’ vice captain Emma Byiringiro applauded Young Tigers upon their win and cautioned his teammates to up their game ahead of future tournaments. “It’s embarrassing to lose to Young Tigers. We taught them the game and now they are teaching us how to win,” Byiringiro disappointingly noted. Ends
