100 couples take marriage vows at mass wedding

At least 110 couples in Kicukiro district on Thursday got married during a mass civil wedding ceremony organised by Women for Women International (WFWI). The ceremony was graced by various leaders from the district and well-wishers. Presiding over the ceremony, the Kicukiro Mayor Jean Paul Ndamage, said, “Knowing when to apologise and how to forgive are important elements in marriage that the two of you need to incorporate into your marriage.” Micheal Hategekimana and Hope Mukakanyange, one of the couples, cautioned against frequent arguments which often turn abusive or violent in order to have a stable marriage.  WFWI country Director Antonina Kayitesi said their aim was to enhance enjoyment of the rights of women.
