Editor, REFERENCE IS made to Prof. Manasseh Nshuti’s commentary, “Change, stability and continuity: a political homework (Part I)” (The New Times, February 15). What Nshuti has pointed out is true. But it cannot be an excuse to change the constitution. Why don’t you let the President decide?Let us cross the bridge when we reach it. But the problem in African states is bad advisors to our dear presidents. I do not want to see the recent crisis that swept away long serving African presidents visit our land. Stick to the constitution; I believe there are many cadres that can lead this nation under the guidance of the retired President, when he retires.Sudil, India*****************Editor,UNDER HIS tenure, H.E Paul Kagame has done a lot for Rwanda with his team. If it is a winning team, it should then be able to emulate what its leader has been doing and choose the best successor.
