Editor, This is a reaction to the article, “Mushikiwabo’s statement to German parliamentarians”, (The New Times, February 4, 2013).I love how Rwanda does its business at the international level. The stand is clear. Progress is what all concerned parties are looking up to. It is all about getting financially independent and working with or without the donor funds. Rwanda, too, is committed to both regional and internal peace. Haters have had no reason to let Rwanda down but its commitment to development is evident on how it has promoted gender equality, eradicated poverty and contributed to the United Nations peacekeeping missions in Darfur, Sudan and policing in Haiti. Rwanda is soon becoming a power house in Africa. We are all looking forward to a better Rwanda.John, Kerala, IndiaEditor, This (Mushikiwabo’s statement) reminds us how proud we should be as Rwandans, of our strong and focused leadership. Despite innumerable challenges, we have registered a track record of amazing progress as a country. Long live the country of a thousand hills, the sky is the limit!E KALIMBA, Johannesburg, South Africa
