Editor,IN RESPONSE to Sunny Ntayombya’s opinion, Leaders’ spouses and kids cannot be allowed to do business with the State, (The New Times, January 30, 2013), it makes sense to repeal the old law. Although it was probably made with good intentions, it seems like a type of blanket solution for which expressions such as throwing out the baby with the bath water were made. While nepotism is an understandable fear, the way to prevent it is not to bar all people with family in the government from entering into otherwise legal, fair and deserved contracts with the State. That would be cutting your nose to spite your face.Concerned citizen, Kigali
