Mwanja has been involved with Rwandan cricket since 2010 serving in various positions notably as Under 19 boys’ coach, player in the league and advisor. His appointment was announced during a recent RCA general meeting. His immediate tasks include consolidating Rwanda cricket’s brand as the most admired team sport, growth in playing numbers, attracting sponsorship and running RCA like a corporate. After the announcement, Rwanda Cricket Association president Charles Haba said, “We are all very excited about the coming on board of a highly-skilled and well-respected individual to run Rwandan cricket and we are optimistic of the opportunities that come with his appointment.”The recruitment of a general manager was made possible by a grant from the Africa Office of the International Cricket Council in recognition of strides taken by RCA to develop the game and its plans to take cricket to greater heights.
