EASTERN PROVINCE KAYONZA — Interchurch Youth Foundation Training, a Rwandan faith based organization has targeted to offer training for 86 orphans in Kayonza district. “The orphans will be trained in potential skills as mechanics, driving, tailoring, hair dressing, carpentry and building. The orphans were selected from six administrative sectors in Kayonza district namely Kabarondo, Ruramira and Rwinkwavu among others,” George Ngarambe, the President of Interchurch Youth Foundation said. Ngarambe said this during a function to launch the program held at Kabarondo sector recently. He said Interchurch Youth Foundation will sponsor them to undergo this training in different vocational training centers in Kayonza district. He explained that this is in line with extending physical training to the beneficiaries. One of the beneficiaries, Letiatia Mukagabiro told The New Times that before joining Interchurch Youth Foundation she had been in isolation and had almost lost hope in her survival. She said she is studying tailoring under the sponsorship of Interchurch Youth Foundation and looks forward to becoming self employed to develop her self. Meanwhile, Julius Mugabo, the Executive Secretary of Kabarondo sector in an interview said he was satisfaction with the activities of Interchurch Youth Foundation in his sector. He said the activities contribute to capacity building which is in line with government’s vision of achieving development through well trained human resource. Ngarambe said that Interchurch Youth Foundation also encourages voluntary HIV/Aids testing and counselling amongst the youth. During the same function youth voluntarily tested for HIV and were also counselled. Ends
