Defending champions APR are drawn in pool C together with Yanga of Tanzania, Awassa city of Ethiopia and Miembeni of Zanzibar while Rayon Sport is in pool B with last year’s finalists Uganda Revenue Authority, Ten Ten of Eritrea and AS Compagnie (CDI) of Djibouti. The group C which has been pointed out as the group of death has Tanzania’s Simba, Tusker of Kenya, Vital’O of Burundi and Somalia’s Banaadir Telecom. APR who won the Kagame Cup on home soil last year will face crucial test defending the trophy away in Tanzania. Rwanda’s other representative Rayon Sport last tasted the Cecafa Club championship glory in 1998 during current coach Raoul Shungu’s first spell at the club. According to Cecafa’s Secretary General Nicholas Musonye, Al Hilal of Sudan was excluded from the draws following its failure to honour the invitational. Ends
