Top PLE pupil commends the support of her parents and teachers

NADINE TUYISHIME, 12, one of the best ten performing students in last year`s Primary Leaving Examinations said her wish is to become an engineer. Tuyishime who sat for the national examinations at Good Harvest Primary School in Kicukiro district is the only one in the three districts that make up Kigali who managed to make it to the list of the best students countrywide.“I am grateful to my parents and teachers for their support that enabled me to excel. It was a challenge that inspired me to work even harder to achieve my dreams,” said Tuyishime.Tuyishime also came second after Geoffrey Mugabe from the same school on the list of the best 35 candidates in English. Good Harvest took the first three positions of the best candidates in English followed by Bright Academy.Grace Nyirakaragwe, Tuyishime’s mother, called on parents to actively support children so that they can excel.“It’s not that I stopped her from playing, I only helped her in managing her time very well so that she could do things at the right time,” Nyirakaragwe said with a smile on her face.JothamMwesigye, the Head Master of Good Harvest said that discipline among students is a key factor in excellent performance.“Team work not only among the teachers, but also parents is among the factors that will lead to good performance in any school,” said Mwesigye.By the time The New Times visited the school;visiting parents were also jubilating with the students for the good performance.
