Debate: Would you demand to know your partner’s passwords?

It would lose the real meaning of being a password!I’m just wondering why one would ask for my password as if they don’t understand the real meaning of a password. People who ask for their partner’s passwords always have this question running in their unsecure minds, is he or she hiding something from me?Does my partner know my password mean that I’m not hiding anything from him? Hell no! If I have something to hide, I would give them the password, and then just after a day I would change it immediately. Duh there are options to change. I don’t see why a spouse or partner would determine one’s trust based on the issue of passwords. I also don’t understand people who get mad because their partner has refused to give them the password to their email, social media accounts and so on. It’s so surprising how the same people who ask to know the password hold on to theirs like it’s a treasure. I’m sorry to say but I would not give any of my passwords to my partner. People can have weird way of interpreting messages. Take, for instance, if he or she reads an email from an Old classmate who you once moved out with while in school and you are doing business together, imagine how they would react if this person‘s pickup line for the message is sweetheart, war would breakout! The frequent ways of exchanging passwords with partners cause more harm than good in a relationship because it’s not about having something to hide, but everyone is entitled to their privacy. By the way when you go through your partner’s emails, you are not only invading their privacy but other people’s privacy is affected as well. You could get tempted to reply an email, and yet the writing style differs and the receiver of the emails notices the change thus your partner loses credibility. For instance, my emails to my younger brother always end with a capitalised I LOVE YOU and his email address does not have his name, so if my partner reads such an email, it would have to be a Q&A session. Dating someone or if you are married to them doesn’t give you all the access to their life to the extent of knowing their passwords. In fact if you over insist, they would give you the password and signup another email address. If your partner has given you reason not to trust them, asking for their passwords to their emails or social media sites to check them out will not solve anything.
