Khaki has become an everyday wear for most people today. Khaki whether pants, dress or skirts, have become a staple wardrobe for every woman, long gone are the days when khakis were a reserve for men.Funny as it might sound, khaki started out as a military uniform, and then went to safari expeditions before it became a fashion staple for both men and women.One of the most notable people in the world who used to love wearing cropped khaki pants was the late Jackie Onassis. Khaki is known for its versatility and looks good in anyway it’s designed.A few years back though, it was not easy to find outfits made of khaki anywhere. Thanks to developments in the fashion industry, khaki outfits can be found easily in many clothing shops everywhere you go. Outfits made of khaki have also made through the high fashion. Very recently we saw khaki clothes being strutted on the runways. The very latest khaki we have seen comes in smooth skinny-like jeans and pencil skirts.Official wearWhere I work khaki is very much allowed, so I have a day every week when I dress something made of khaki. Now, depending with your kind of work and office rules, khaki is out bounds for many workplaces. But for those who can wear their khaki pants, skirt or even a dress to work, easy does it in terms of accessories. For the pants, wear it with a button down blouse or a sweater top. For the khaki skirt, a sheer blouse looks good when paired together; khaki dress is my favourite of all. A mid length khaki dress with buttons at the front looks very chic and stylish. For bags, shoes and jewelry, how you wear these three things will depend entirely on the occasion. For official wear less is more.High fashionWho said khaki outfits cannot be on high fashion? A well designed khaki dress can be from a formal outfit to an informal wear. When attending soiree or a wedding, khaki dress will do. If the dress is buttoned all the way, just open the first two buttons and layer the cleavage with strands of pearls to give you an edge and to make the outfit flirty.SportswearCapri pants, cargo shorts, khaki jackets – all these can be seen worn by some sportsmen and women. For example, some people wear cargo shorts to play golf, but this will depend on the rules of the golfing club; some clubs do not admit people who are not dressed according to their rules.
