The chairman of the Private Sector Federation (PSF), Faustin Mbundu, is leaving the position to have time for his personal business.Mbundu has served PSF as board chairman since July 22, 2011 when he was elected by general assembly for a-3-year term. In an interview with The New Times, Mbundu did not indicate his last day on the job. But said: “I may leave, any other member of the board may leave and it wouldn’t be a big deal because the institution is already strong.”The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PSF, Hannington Namara, said an official communication to the effect will be released later. He argued that he has a committee to report to which is set to confirm something official. Asked whether Mbundu’s move won’t leave a gap in the federation, Namara said, “Mbundu will be missed but the federation will keep standing firmly because he is part of a strong team of 18 members of board of directors”.Understandably, his resignation has to be endorsed by the board.
