AS holiday makers prepare to go back to school, local hip-hop musician Lionel Karangwa a.k.a Lil G will be launching his first album on January 5. The album dubbed Nimbomugabo is loaded with fifteen songs, eight of which already have videos. His launch called Bye Bye Vacancy will be held at Amahoro stadium parking grounds. He told The New Times that the reason he decided to launch his album around the time students are going back to school is to give them an exciting windup of the holidays. “I believe that this is the right time to launch this album as it will give my fans, especially the students, a chance to enjoy the end of the holiday,” he said. The launch will be graced with various local artistes including Riderman, King James, Alpha Rwirangira, kItoko, Dream boys, Jay Polly and Elion Victory among others. Entrance fee will be Rwf 1000 and Rwf 2000 for VIP. Lil G’s album includes songs like Agaciro, Mbabazi, Akagozi, Nimbumugabo and Umuntu among others. The upcoming hip hop star started his music career in 2007 when he released his first single dubbed In the Club. He then became a star through his various collabos with famous local musicians. Among others, he has done collabos with Meddy of the Nimbumugabo fame which is still enjoying massive airplay on local radio stations. He also did a collabo with Jay Polly called Akagozi.
