EASTERN PROVINCE RWAMAGANA — The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) has distributed twenty four laptops to the districts of Rwamagana and Ngoma in the Eastern province. The project coordinator of the good governance programme of GTZ-Rwanda, Wolfgang Ahrens handed the laptops to the Mayor of Rwamagana District Valens Ntezirembo and the mayor of Ngoma District Francois Niyotwagira at Complex Hall in Rwamagana on Monday June 9. The donation is a contribution towards poverty reduction and conflict prevention through the promotion of good governance in the country. Fourteen of the 34 laptops were immediately distributed to accountants of different sectors in an effort aimed at improving financial management. Under this program of good governance, GTZ works in partnership with several ministries and districts to promote decentralisation. Among other activities, GTZ provides technical and advisory services, including organizational support, staff training and supplies materials and equipment to grass root authorities. GTZ is an international enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. The German Federal Ministry of Economic cooperation and Development (BMZ) is a shareholder and one of GTZ´s primary clients. Ends
