WESTERN PROVINCE RUSIZI — A group of over 70 residents have been trained on various issues concerning employees’ savings with the Social Security Fund of Rwanda (SSFR). The one-day workshop organized by SSFR that took place on Wednesday at the centre pastoral conference hall in Kamembe sector in Rusizi district encouraged all employers to register and insure their employees save with SSFR. The trainees included representatives of cooperatives and business associations, sector officials in charge of social affairs from the 18 sectors of Rusizi district and some military and police personnel. Marie-Claire Uwera, an official from the SSFR Education and Public Relations department encourage residents to sensitize and mobilize all employers to register and insure their employees save with SSFR because that would help them have a better future. She also advised participants especially employees to always contact their nearby CSR offices to clarify whether their employers registered and insured them under CSR. She further urged employers to always pay their contributions in time and to encourage all private institutions to get registered with SSFR. Participants were senstitised on the rules and regulations that govern the social security fund of Rwanda and the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees as regards to social savings. Jérôme Habyarimana, the CSR official in Rusizi district said that many employees and employers in the district don’t know the activities and responsibilities of SSFR but noted that they would sensitize and mobilize all residents.
