RRA Logo interpretation

Dear Editor, In response to the letter addressed to The New Times editor of June 5th 2008 congratulating the RRA for the new corporate identity, and also requesting the said Institution to shade more light on what the new logo stands for, the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) has the pleasure to respond to the writer as follows. As part of its programme to develop a greater emphasis on customer service, RRA re-branded its new image by creating a corporate identity (new Logo and Website). This means establishing a range of visual forms that distinctly convey the character and exceptional behavior of an organization. RRA launched its new corporate Identity- designed to give the organisation a fresh look and feel aimed at positioning the tax body as the heart of making Rwanda an economically independent nation. The logo is interpreted according to its visual identities which include the structure and the colours. The Structure consists of the shape and type of the logo in a flower form. It also symbolizes three elements of Unity and Equity, Growth and Development and Prosperity. The logo colors of Green, Blue and Orange symbolize the following: Green: Health environment, Harmony, Growth and Prosperity. Blue: Universal, Light Friendly and Calm. Orange: Essential, Sincere, Commitment and Strength. The re-branded logo and website have been created as distinctive and easily recognizable element that will allow taxpayers to quickly recognize and identify the organization. To RRA the logo implies personal and organizational growth. It also implies a flourishing confident organization and it implies rejuvenation – a quality that applies not only to RRA but to Rwanda as a nation. It is seen as representing an organization that is aware of its role in society and aware of its responsibilities to its customers. RRA re-branded the organization to speak of new beginnings, of a modern tax administration that puts much emphasis on customer care and quality service. RRA will do all in its capacity to assist taxpayers to comply with their legal obligations and we will continue to combat tax evasion and non-compliance in a dynamic manner. Rwanda Revenue Authority
