La Liga isn’t boring, it’s pathetic!

Manchester United was eight points clear last season with only five games left and everybody thought it was over, except for the blue side of Manchester.Manchester City crawled back and won the league magically on goal difference, leaving Sir Fergusson ruing, regretting and wondering how his team was so close, and yet so far.That is the beauty of the premier league; you don’t have the title unless it’s mathematically over. In Spain however, whoever is on top in the first few games, between Barcelona and Madrid, is going to be crowned champions.It is not even half the season yet but every team has given up chasing Barcelona, which is nine points clear from second placed Atletico Madrid. Real Madrid, a team assembled with stars with a so-called magician coach, are 13 points behind Messi’s army.Although there are many points left to play for, Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid’s coach has already declared Barca champions, whereas the usual hardliner, Morinho, has also thrown in the towel.This lack of fighting spirit by the strong sides is what makes La Liga embarrassingly boring. The only fixture that football fans used to wait for was the El Classico. From what I gather now, it is a dead rubber- unpalatable.No wonder Mourinho already looks bored with his job at Madrid and is constantly being pressed on his future.Bashing Reading doesn’t change facts, Mr. Wenger! Arsenal lost its only chance of silverware this season when they were bashed by lowly side Bradford. Despite the discontent it caused amongst the fans, Wenger remained unapologetic by playing down the loss.When he bashed Reading last Monday, he came out strong to say that his team is back with a bang and that the critiques have been silenced. Well, all we can do it wait and see; Arsenal hasn’t been able to beat both Manchester clubs and Chelsea. For taking all of us on a folly ride, I honestly hope Wenger learns a lesson one of these days. I hope it starts this weekend against Newcastle.Brendan just can’t Rodger that!Liverpool’s boss Brendan Rodgers was left almost without a clue after Aston Villa walloped his side last weekend. At his interview after the match, Rodgers admitted that the loss was a step backwards for the club; that he didn’t expect it because his players were all in positive mood before the game.Probably Rodgers is missing the point; the team might be in full spirits but the quality isn’t at par. He keeps bringing the “rebuilding” aspect up but one thing he forgets is that even the other clubs are not stagnant. He was beaten by a club trying to get back on its feet, and deservedly so. What he must do is get players who are almost as good as Suarez and try to fight back to the top four. Otherwise, just like Wenger, Rodgers is also taking us on a ride with his “rebuilding” rhetoric.
