Jean Bosco Ndacyayishimira, better known as DJ Bob, is a popular local music promoter who has worked with most Rwandan artistes. He had a chat with Sunday Times’s Grace Mugoya: How long have you been doing this thing? It is now twelve years. What do you think is the major challenge faced by upcoming musicians? Some radio DJs ask for money to play their music but most upcoming artistes are broke. What criteria do you use in choosing musicians to promote? I consider talent. Just that. What is your opinion on the local music industry? There is still a long way to go. But I would also say that we are on the right track. What is your advice to local musicians?
