THE highly anticipated, Umudendezo album launch by Danny Vumbi recorded a relatively low turn-up at Sports View Hotel over the weekend.“The turn up was very small. Although I didn’t expect a lot of money, the collections from the show were very little,” Vumbi told The New Times.The crowd included mostly the staff that were hired to either perform or usher the patrons into various seats. The mood was cold and few people that assembled in the grand stand and the centre of the pitch managed to endure the cold evening.Vumbi performed tracks from his latest album including, Burundu, Umukunzi, Umpa Umwana and Ebimenyitso—but the main highlight was Salax award-winner Dominic Nick, who charmed the gospel enthusiasts with his sweet melodic soothing voice.The singer was simply a marvel to watch on stage and sent chills in almost every body present at the venue with his touching voice. Patrick Nymitari also played his part in making sure that revellers had value for their money.Vumbi, a member of a male trio Pop and R&B-The Brothers, also sent fans agog. In the middle of his performance, the singer thanked fans for attending his album launch concert—and said he was not worried about the low turn-out.Though a handful of revelers were in attendance, the performing artistes did their best to ensure that those present enjoyed the concert.Vumbi mesmerised the believers and the concert ended at around 10:30 p.m.
