Women should put reason before desire

It’s been a while since my girlfriend was around, and happily for me, she got back last week. Having been around for about three days, of course, we had to spend ample time together as we had greatly missed each other. After a mere two days, she came to me and told me that some friends of hers were hitting the beach upcountry and that she was just dying to go there too. As the month was ageing, so was my previous salary. So I told her it was quite expensive for us at the moment and that we would do it some other time. She said it was okay; at least that is what I thought she said! But later, the disappointment of not going to the beach kept gnawing at her, making her madder by the jiffy. She then sent me a text saying, “So you took all your friends out the entire the month and now you have refused to accept this one thing I am asking you to do?” Having thought all was well when she said it’s ok (what I thought I heard), the text simply puzzled me. What did she want me to do? To go there and crawl through a hole when given the bill, or stay behind and wash their dishes for the rest of the month for failure to pay up? I didn’t say no because I just didn’t want to. I simply did not have the funds. Postponing to the next time when my wallet seemed happier was way more reasonable than a bleak day at the beach, watching other people spend their money!
