Dear Editor, I am a Ugandan national working in London and very often I do keep abreast with the business world back home in Rwanda. Recently I read Josh Kron’s article on customer service in Rwanda and thought I’d take the opportunity to thank him for addressing the issue - an issue that quite frankly, many locals as well as foreigners see but don’t know how to take a stand and turn tables and give control back to the client and away from the provider. Often when my wife and I are back home, this is one of the most fundamental issues we find lacking in the business sector, particularly in the catering industry, as Josh pointed out. I do hope this article has far reaching impact to change attitudes, before foreign companies flood into Rwanda and the 10 waiters are out of jobs complaining: “the foreigners have taken our jobs”. Again I thank Josh for taking the time to write this article and thank The New Times for bringing it to press. Contact: Philip.Gasaatura@uk.abnamro.com London
