Tuesday Rwanda 77-57 Tanzania Point guard Jean-Jacques Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza scored 20 points as Rwanda ran away with a dominant 77-57 win over Tanzania in the FIBA Afro-CAN qualifiers which are underway in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Nshobozwa was in electric form inside the Benjamin Mkapa Indoor Stadium and his 20 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound silenced the home fans who watched their Tanzanian side lose the match at the hands of Cheikh Sarr’s men. Small forward Dieudonné Ndizeye and Cadeaux de Dieu Furaha added 13 and 12 points, respectively, to take Rwanda’s winning streak to three games. Rwanda opened the game with a dominant first quarter quarters 24-14 and 28-7 for the second quarter going into halftime with a 52-21 lead. Returning for the second-half, Tanzania bounced back with a win in the third quarter 18-14 and last quarter 18-11 but it was not enough to win a game. After the round robin style, the two first teams will play the final after which the winner will book a ticket to the Afro-CAN finals, a 12-nation tournament that will take place in Luanda, Angola, from July 7-16.
