Foreign Ministers Zbigniew Rau of Poland and Dr. Vincent Biruta of Rwanda on Monday, June 19 signed an agreement that will focus on the training of diplomatic personnel. The signing of the bilateral agreement took place at the Conference of Ambassadors in Warsaw. The discussions between the ministers covered various aspects with a particular focus on fostering economic exchange, cooperation in agriculture, engineering, and IT sectors. Additionally, they underscored the importance of continuing existing Polish projects and investments in Rwanda while exploring new avenues for collaboration. Notably, the implementation of earlier agreements on education and cybersecurity, signed in 2021, featured prominently during the talks. He specifically highlighted the GreenEvo - Green Technology Accelerator project, which aims to facilitate the global transfer of Polish environmental technologies. This initiative aligns well with Rwanda's development priorities, and Minister Rau encouraged Minister Biruta to explore potential partnerships in this area. Both ministers acknowledged that the current level of trade between Poland and Rwanda falls short of realizing the full potential of their bilateral relations. However, they expressed optimism and hope for a rapid and positive change in this trend, emphasizing the need to deepen cooperation across various sectors. Furthermore, it boosts Rwanda's growing significance as one of Poland's key partners in Sub-Saharan Africa.
