EditorRwanda is absolutely right to hold its fire and avoid reacting to this provocation from DRC, a country that would love nothing more than drawing us into their internal conflict. This is nothing other than an attempt at drawing us into this fight and so have proof - even if deliberately induced by themselves - that they are being attacked by Rwanda. Sometimes, the measure of a strong country is not in its ability to mete out justifiable punishment for such aggression, but its ability to restrain itself. Of course, it requires discipline and self-restraint not to respond, but I have no doubt that Rwandas leadership and her defense forces are up to the task. A warning to desist from further provocation and informing the rest of the world that there is a limit to our patience should be sufficient in this case. The DRC government and its military know fully well that it is not out of cowardice or lack of means that Rwanda has held back despite the provocation Mwene Kalinda(Reaction to a story ‘DRC directs fire at Rwanda as M23 closes in on Goma’ The Newtimes, November, 20.)
