Second Dundastar audition attracts more contestants

THE turn up at the second audition of the dance and singing competition–Dundastar, on Saturday evening attracted 33 dancers and aspiring musicians. This was quite impressive, compared to the first audition that saw only four contestants register for the competition.The event was held at Cercle Sportif in Rugunga- Kigali and attracted aspiring solo singers as well as groups.Among the contestants in the dancing competition include the Hunters, Phantonis Crew, Connection Group, The Cool Boys and Lucky Family, while musicians were PGB group, Dance Jolalee and Shanel.One of the organisers of the competition, Praise Asiimwe, called on more young talents to take advantage of the competition.“Yes, the turn-up is promising but more contestants should show up in the next round of auditioning so that they can try their luck at developing their talents and potential,” said Asiimwe.The event started at 10am, with Tuyishime, an upcoming R&B singer as the curtain raiser. The competing dancers seemed to have what it takes to win the competition and left the thrilled audience begging for more.The Cool Boys were among those who impressed the judges with great energy on stage and unique dance antics. The competition will see the most talented participants scoop recording deals with renowned producers in the region and dancers signed to famous dancing groups in the region. The third audition is slated for Saturday at Rainbow Hotel in Kicukiro.
