Moshions’ boss out of jail Last week, the talk in town was all about Moses Turahirwa, the founder of the renowned fashion house Moshions, being granted bail by the Nyarugenge Intermediate Court. Turahirwa had been in jail since April 27, on charges of alleged drug abuse and document forgery. His arrest had attracted attention of many people including top players in the fashion industry. Turahirwa is one of the best fashion designers in the region with mega awards such as African Fashion Designer of the year At ASFAs 2022. He is still facing charges of drug abuse. Juno Kizigenza trending for dropping maiden album Juno is currently the number one trending artiste in Rwanda after releasing his maiden album dubbed ‘Yaraje.’ The 17-track album is regarded by many as the best album of this year, and the greatest among the young generation making music in the country. It is a project that features Rwanda’s modern music legends like Riderman, King James, BullDogg, Knowless Butera and Bruce Melodie. The singer worked with almost all Rwandan biggest music producers on this album including Element Eleéeh, Clement Ishimwe, Prince Kiiz, X oN tHe BeAt, Santana Sauce, Madebeats, Kozze, Knox on the Beat, Niz Beat and Bob Pro who mixed and mastered most of the tracks on the tape. ‘Yaraje’ remains the talk of the Rwandan music industry since it premiered last week. Davido, Tiwa Savage and Diamond Platnumz to perform in Kigali Music lovers around the country are crazy about witnessing megastars like Davido and Tiwa Savage perform in Rwanda in one show. The two Nigerian stars, alongside Diamond Platnumz of Tanzania, were last week announced as the headliners of the inaugural Giants of Africa Youth Basketball Festival that will take place in Kigali from August 13-19. This was confirmed by Toronto Raptors President and Giants of Africa co-founder Masai Ujiri on Thursday, June 15. It is the first time that Rwanda will be hosting big musicians on the globe in one week. They will be joined by Rwanda’s very own Bruce Melodie and Tyla, a rising star selected as one of Spotify’s emerging artists as part of their RADAR program. The New Times understands that African music superstar Burna Boy will also perform, should the talks with his management materialize. Sandra Teta plays down reports that Ugandan fiancé brutally beat her Last week, Rwandan famous event promoter Sandra Teta was reported to have said that her fiancé and baby daddy Douglas Mayanja, best known as Weasel, never laid hands on her as it was reported by the media both in Rwanda and Uganda. Teta said this at Pallaso’s concert in Kampala last week, after media bumped into her for clarification on her fallout with famous fiancé and the photos in which she appeared to have been thumped and left with a deformed face. This came as a surprise to many including her family and the Rwandan government that flew her back to Kigali saying that they were protecting her from her abusive fiancé. The couple is currently happy and planning to wed soon as Weasel recently told the Ugandan media. Prior to dating Weasel, Teta dated Active Again crew member Dereke and Miss Rwanda organization boss Ishimwe Dieudonne alias Prince Kid who is now husband to Miss Rwanda 2017 Elsa Iradukunda.
