Kenyan artistes to share stage with Jah Cure

KENYA is evidently under the Jamaican spell. Two top Jamaican Reggae artistes Jah Cure and Duane Stephenson will be in Nairobi next month for a concert.Cure has confirmed his concert in Kenya in December via twitter. “I will be in Kenya in December,” he tweeted.Cure famed for his songs like “Longing for”, “What will it take” and “Call on me”- made his first big break in March 1997 when he released the single “King in this Jungle”, which was a duet with Sizzla.In November 1998, while driving around Montego Bay, Cure was pulled over by the police and arrested on charges of gun possession, robbery and rape. He was prosecuted before the Gun Cour in April 1999, found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison.After finally being released he continued working on his music and has never looked back. Jah Cure joins the list of Jamaican musicians who have visited the country this year including Clinton Fearon, Etana and Tarrus Riley.Meanwhile, Stephenson’s career took off when he recorded his top selling album “August Town”. Other Jamaican artistes expected to tour Kenya later in the year are Konshens and Tarus Riley.
