RWANDA moved up two places on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released Wednesday.The latest edition of the November ranking pits the Amavubi at 122 on the overall standings from the previous 124th position after accumulating 40 more points to reach a total of 280 points.Rwanda is placed thirty seventh in Africa and fourth in Cecafa region coming behind Uganda, Ethiopia and Sudan.Amavubi head coach Milutin Sredojovic Micho had little to comment on the rankings. “It is good that we have moved up but we still need to be more competitive so as to continue rising,” he noted before adding, “I expect a different story in the January rankings”.Last month’s friendly match against Namibia which ended in a goalless draw was put in account for the current ranking.Uganda moved up four positions to eighty sixth and 22 in Africa while Ethiopia also improved 16 places to 102 and 28 and jointly tied on with Sudan which moved two places down. Cote d’Ivoire is still leading Africa at 15. Spain still top the rankings with Germany second and Argentina moving in third.The results of 146 ‘A’ internationals were taken into account on the current edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, of which more than half (77) were qualifiers for the next FIFA World Cup. 25 were CONCACAF/AFC continental qualifiers and 44 were friendlies.
