POLICE Handball Club has opted not to compete in the regional tournament and instead focus on preparing for the 34th Africa Club Championships scheduled for November 14-25 in Morocco.Initially, the Rwandan league champions were set to compete in the regional tournament which gets underway this weekend in Nairobi, Kenya but decided to pull out.Head coach Alphonse Udahemuka said the club management decided to focus on the African Championships. “The schedule for the two tournaments was too close for us to commit ourselves to both. We decided to keep our players together for intensive preparations as we seek to represent the country well in the continental championships,” Udahemuka told Times Sport.For the African Championships, Police is drawn alongside in Group A alongside Jeunesse Skikda (Algeria), FAP (Cameroon), Stade Mandji (Gabon), Al Ahly (Libya), and Ittihad Riadhi Tanger (Morocco)Group B is comprised of Zamalek (Egypt), Etoile (Congo), Al Nasser Club (Libya), SOA (Cote d’Ivoire) and Mouloudia de Marrakech (Morocco).
